Expression of Interest

Nepal Agricultural Market Development Programme (NAMDP), branded as Sahaj, is a bilateral initiative between the Government of Switzerland and the Government of Nepal. Swisscontact and CEAPRED jointly implement Sahaj, mandated by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). Sahaj is designed as a ‘Market Systems Development’ (MSD/M4P) programme under SDC’s Nepal Agriculture Growth Initiative (NAGI). Sahaj aims to sustainably improve livelihoods of rural smallholders, especially disadvantaged groups and women-headed households, through their participation in commercial agriculture and ‘interconnected markets’.

Besides designing and implementing systemic interventions in selected agriculture value- chains/sectors, Sahaj also plans to implement part of its sector strategies and interventions through ‘co-facilitators’. Co-facilitators are organisations contracted and funded by Sahaj to implement interventions on behalf of (but in close collaboration with) Sahaj and/or to work as an extended team of Sahaj for rolling out specific tasks of sector interventions.

Sahaj invites Expression of Interest (Eol) from suitable Nepali organisations, and/or consortia led by Nepali organisations (with national/ international organisations as partners of the consortia), which are experienced in market systems development (MSD/M4P) approach and willing to take up co-facilitation assignment in fresh vegetables and/ or maize sector.

An elaborated document on the Eol for each sector (fresh vegetables and maize) can be downloaded from the following links –

Maize: http://www.swisscontact.org/fileadmin/user_upload/COUNTRIES/Bangladesh/ Documents/Content/Eol_Co-Facilitator_Sahaj-N AMDP_Maize.pdf

Organisations willing to express their interest in both the sectors should submit separate Eol for each sector. Shortlisted organisations will be asked to submit technical and financial proposals based on separate TOR(s) for each sector at a later stage.

The Expression of Interest with information and documents specified in the elaborated documents on the Eol (available on the above-menztioned web-link) must be submitted on or before 09 April, 2017 to the following address:
