ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY

United Mission to Nepal (UMN) is an international development organization which aims to enable the poorest people living in poverty to transform their lives, leading towards fullness of life. As we serve the people of Nepal, multicultural teams of Nepali and volunteer expatriate staff work alongside local organizations in ten districts of the country, building partnerships that lead to healthy, dignified and empowered individuals and transformed communities.

  1. Position: Infrastructure and WASH Officer

(Based in Dhading until mid July 2020 with possible extension)

The main purpose of this position is to plan, design, communicate, supervise, share knowledge and monitor all construction works of community infrastructures i.e. Schools and community Water Supply Schemes, User Friendly Toilets and support in Hygiene Promotion under the Dhading Disaster Response Programmed (DDRP) in rural areas of Dhading district.

  1. Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering;
  • A minimum of 2 – 3 years of post-qualification experience in construction sector;
  • Experience in Monitoring and Supervision of Truss and RCC frame structure buildings and Gravity Flow Rural Water Supply Scheme and knowledge of Hygiene Promotion;
  • Knowledge of preparing BOQ, Cost Estimates and Rate Analysis;
  • Experience in Design and Analysis of Truss and RCC structures and survey and design of Rural Water Supply Scheme;
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Structural Design Software (SAP2000);
  • Flexible in terms of working hours, workload and travel;
  • Able to work under high pressure;
  • Good computer skills and communication skills in Nepali and English language, both written and verbal.
