UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) invests its funding and technical capabilities in LDCs and other developing countries. With its capital mandate and instruments, UNCDF offers “last mile” finance models that unlock public and private resources in support of households, localities and small enterprises that are underserved, where development needs are greatest and where resources are scarcest.

The UNCDF Nepal is seeking for qualified, talented and result oriented candidates for the following assignment:

 

Job title: National Programme Coordinator

Contract type and level: TA (NO-C)

Duty Station: Kathmandu

Key responsibilities:

The National Programme Coordinator (NPC) will coordinate, monitor and oversee implementation of UNCDF Inclusive Finance programmes/projects activities in Nepal. NPC will also strengthen and establish new strategic partnerships, and support resource mobilization. NPC will supervise and lead programme support staff, coordinate activities of the projects staff, and work in close collaboration with other UN agencies, government officials, multi-lateral and bi-lateral donors and civil society ensuring successful UNCDF programme implementation.

Required qualification and experience:

Completion of Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Economic Development, MBA, International Relations, Economic, Agriculture, Finance or related fields. At least 5 years of senior level experience in progressively more responsible positions; demonstrated experience in managing country operations, projects and/or programmes as well as developing and utilizing project management tools (budgeting, preparation of annual work-plans); track record of providing technical assistance and/or policy advice, overseeing and managing inclusive finance, microfinance, agricultural finance or value chain finance programmes/projects.
