First date of publication: 22 March 2017 United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Nepal works with the people and Government of Nepal, and other development partners to pursue equitable and sustainable human development goals through eradication of poverty, increase in livelihood opportunities, improvement in community resilience against conflict, disasters and impact of climate change, while laying down strong foundations for a society based on rule of law with an inclusive and participatory democracy.
The UNDP Nepal is seeking applications from qualified and result oriented Nepalese citizens for following assignment:
Job title: Team Leader-Parliamentary Affairs
Contract type and level: SC (SB 5/1)
Duty Station: Kathmandu (with field visits)
Number of position: One
Contract Duration: 31 December 2017 with possibility of extension
Key responsibilities:
Parliament Support Project is focussing on enhancing capacity of Parliament for its effective function in law making and oversight. The Parliamentary Affairs Team Leader will lead Parliamentary Affairs component and support in whole program cycle including capacity building of Parliamentarians and Parliament Secretariat staff in law making and oversight.
Required qualification and experience:
Completion of a Master’s Degree in Law, Peacebuilding, Political Science or related fields. 7 years of experience in supporting policy advice in constitution building and Parliament Affair, working with Parliamentarians and Parliament. Sound understanding of Parliamentary procedures. Knowledge of Project cycle and Results Based Management tools.

The candidates should have Master’s Degree in TVET, Education, Public Policy or related field. At least 5 years of processional experience in the management and leadership of TVET programmes and services, including policy and implementation of programmes.
