VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT IN CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AND TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING
Nepal Engineering College (nec) invites applications for the following teaching positions in M.Sc. Construction Management and Transportation Engineering and Management.
| POSITIONS | QUALIFICATION AND WORKING EXPERIENCE |
| Teaching faculties (Position will be offered based on his/her qualification and experience) | • M.Sc./M.E in Civil Engineering or any engineering discipline from a reputed university with a minimum of 5 years of teaching/working experience in Construction Management and /or Transportation Engineering.
• PhD in Civil Engineering or any engineering discipline from a reputed university with a minimum of 2 year of teaching/working experience in Construction Management and /or Transportation Engineering. |
(Note: Specific knowledge on CIS and RS will be an added advantage for the positions)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaching responsibility of the courses relevant to Construction Management and /or Transportation Engineering with full teaching responsibility, totaling minimum of 9 hours of teaching responsibility per week, in the Masters program in Construction Management and Transportation Engineering and Management at nec CPS.
- Planning, designing and execution of students’ research program and supporting the students in identification of appropriate research site) framing of research questions, research design and development of research proposal in close consultation with concerned Student.
- Organizing stakeholders’ meeting in setting out research agenda, prioritizing research areas and identifying research questions.
- Monitoring and evaluation of progress in the students’ research to ensure quality control and completion within the stipulated time frame.
- Continued communication with all stakeholders to ensure continued exchange of information relating to research engagement of the students.
- Developing networks with relevant development agencies, research organizations, donors and academic/research institutions, both within the country and outside, to seek their continued intellectual support and exchange of information in promoting research in Construction Management and Transportation Engineering and Management Program.
- Any other duties and responsibilities designated by the Program Coordinators/Director.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:
- Candidates should be committed to teaching excellence in a postgraduate program and to building a strong research record
- Potential for effective teaching or teaching experience using a variety of methodologies
- Ability and/or interest in teaching a broad range of courses to diverse students.
