Request for Participation in National Best Presented Annual Report (BPA) Award-2016

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) has been holding an annual award for the National Best Presented Annual Report (BPA) Award since 2003. The basic objective of the award is to promote better presentation of financial and other pertinent information’s and disclosure in the annual report of the reporting entities. Best Presented Accounts & Corporate Governance (BPA & CG) Awards are the indication to the commitment of the entities towards maintaining the highest level of transparency in accounting practices. Corporate entities have always been advocated for good corporate governance and try to reflect in all their processes.

The National Best Presented Annual Report (BPA) Award 2016 will be held under the following categories:

Category 1: Banking Sector (Private and Public Sector) Category 3: Insurance Sector
Category 4: Public Entity
Category 2: Financial Sector Category 5: General Sector

The evaluation of the Annual Report will be done as per the criteria set by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) which arc similar to the SAFA BPA Criteria set by the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA).

The winner will be announced on the occasion of the Oath Taking Ceremony of the newly elected President and Vice President of the Institute in July 2017. The recipients of the National BPA Awards shall have the privileges for nomination in the SAFA Best Presented Accounts Award 2016. National Best Presented Annual Report Award winners have also won award in the SAFA level.

Organizations arc requested to send their interest for participation along with 6 copics of their annual report (preferably in English) for the financial year 2015/16 (2072/73) distributed and duly approved by their annual general meeting to the ICAN office latest by June 20. 2017 (corresponding to Ashad 6, 2074).
