Nepal Hydro Developer Limited. is a company established with the main objective to promote hydropower sector of Nepal through the private investment as a part of contribution to the overall development of the country. Hydro Solutions Group , K L Dugar Group , Murarka Group , and Debenara Group are key shareholders in the company. NHDPL has developed 3.52 MW Charanawoti Hydroelectrical Project, located in Dolakh District. The annual generation of energy is 20.383 GWh. The project has strarted commerical operation from 24th Jestha ,2070.

Background

The Charanawoti Hydroelectrical Project (CHP) is located in Bhimeshwor Municipality ward no 8, 9 & 11, Katakuti VDC Ward No. 06, and Magapauwa VDC Ward No. 05 of Dolakha District in the Central Development Region of Nepal. This project is located 15 km East from Charikot city. Geographically, the basin is located between latitudes 27º37’50” and 27º39’20” and between longitude 86º00’58” and 86º02’35.5″. The river basin extends up to 7555 masl. The annual generation of energy is 20.383 GWh with installed capacity of 3.520 MW.

Access Road

The CHP is along the Arniko Highway, Head works is 13 Km and Power House is approximately 15 km from Charikot city.

Hydrology

The Charanawoti Khola is small tributary of Tamakoshi River. It dr ains a catchment area of 75.7km2 , and 100 years floods at intake and powerhouse are found to be 254 m³/s.
