INVITATION TO BID

FOR SUPPLY OF MALE CONDOMS

  1. Nepal CRS Company invites sealed bids from manufacturers or their authorized representatives for supply of:
  • 3 million units of pre-packaged condoms with Benzocaine; Bid No: CRS/Condoms-1 /2020
  • 6 million units of extra lubricated plain condoms in prepackaged form; Bid No: CRS/Condoms-2/2020

as per the Buyer’s specifications and requirements. Sealed bids from eligible bidders for each types of condom must be received by 12.00 hrs. NST on or before the 45th day (November 12, 2020) from the first day of publication of bid in “The Rising Nepal” and “Kantipur Daily”. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information in respect of the bid documents from the office of CRS, Tokha Road, Mahadevtar, Kathmandu, Nepal, Telephone No 977-1-4362097 or email: md@crs.org.np

  1. Bidding shall be conducted through two envelop system. Interested Bidders are requested to submit their Technical Bid separately from the Financial Bid containing price information. Bidders are requested to carefully read section III- Instruction to Bidders where detailed instructions of the submission process are provided.
  2. Bidders are required to submit Bid document separately for each types of condom.
  3. Separate Bid documents of each types of condoms comprising instructions to bidder, form of contract, bid forms with detail specifications and terms & conditions are available from the CRS office free of cost until the last date of tender submission. Alternatively, the bid documents can also be downloaded free of cost from the CRS website: crs.org.np.
  4. Bid opening will be conducted in two (2) public sessions:
  • During the first public session the envelopes marked “Technical Bid shall be opened and the envelopes marked “Financial Bid” shall remain unopened and kept in a safe place.
  • During the second public session the envelopes marked Financial Bid shall be opened only of the technically qualified bids.
  1. Bids must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount at least 2.5% of total bid value, be valid for a period not less than 120 days from the closing of bids and in the form prescribed in the bid documents.
  2. The first session of Bid opening shall take place in the presence of the bidders and/or their representatives who choose to attend the public opening of the bid, at 14:00 hours NST in the above office on the day of the closing of bid (November 12, 2020).
  3. Bids or modification of bids, from whatever cause arising, received after the closing of bids shall not be considered under any circumstances.
  4. Bids should comply in all respects with the instructions to bidder included in the bid documents, in particular to those listed below. Non-compliance with these instructions will result in disqualification.
  5. All condoms should be supplied with at least 48 months expiry period remaining at the time of delivery to the CRS store.
  6. The successful bidder must deliver the total ordered quantities of the commodities within the delivery schedule shown in the bid documents.
  7. Bids must be accompanied with the samples of commodities intended to be supplied.
  8. Condoms from only those manufacturers who have USFDA 510(k) pre-market clearance to the product being offered (male condoms with benzocaine and extra lubricated plain condoms), in accordance with the technical specifications of condoms, will qualify to participate in the tender.
  9. Award for the supply contract will be made from amongst those bidders who fully meet the requirements for eligibility, qualification and responsiveness of proposed supply as per bid documents and whose tenders are most beneficial to CRS.
  10. Local representative companies or firms should accompany bid forms with letter of authorization from principals and attested copy of income tax and
  11. All foreign bidders are required to indicate, if any, the name and address of their local agent together with a copy of the current & valid agreement for providing services in connection with this bid.
  12. Interested bidders may obtain further information on the bid form and bidding documents at the above office.
  13. CRS reserves all rights to reject any or all bids received or/and accept any bid or part of bid without assigning any reason whatsoever.
